Delaware County, Pennsylvania Real Estate Blog: Hardwood Floor Accents In Delaware County PA

Hardwood Floor Accents In Delaware County PA

Delaware County Pennsylvania has many old houses. Some older houses still have the original flooring from when they were built 100+ years ago.

I enjoy visiting a house that still has its original hardwood floors because the craftmenship that went into laying these floors is one that is not duplicated today.   In particular, the corner accents and side lines.

The accents in the below photos is very common in this area. And it makes me wonder who even came up with this particular pattern?

Gloria rarely do I see older homes here in AZ with details in the wood floor pattern. I do remember running into quite often in MN and the floors were incredible - true craftsmanship.

Not surprised to hear Ron and Alexandra Seigel A as many stone workers and other builders back then were coming from Europe and bringing their wonderful skills.  I was wondering how they settled on that one particular pattern that is so prevalent here. Guess a trademark.  Thanks for stopping by!

Amazing artistry.  I love those old patterns too.  They simply don't build them like that anymore.

Gloria & Doug, I so agree, the older homes with original hardwood flooring have such great detail.  Your photos are stunning floors!

True craftsmanship. I love the patterns and thought that went into creating such a lovely masterpiece with wood flooring. And as others have said, you don't see it being done much these days. :)

Thank you Joan Cox . It is sad when these old floors have to get torn up because of heavy wear and tear.

That flooring is beautiful! I love the attention to details and fine craftsmanship. It was made with labor of love. I have not see patterns like that before. Thank you for sharing. I like that it still looks new and not scuffed up. scratched, or stained.

I absolutely love old houses for the woodwork and the charm you don't get in more modern day construction. This is a very unique floor you've shown us. I don't think I've seen one like that. It's cool. Thanks for sharing.
