Hi Doug and Gloria,

Thanks for such an extensive list plus the beautiful mums. I can never get mine all blooming at once. I am trimming, half are dying, a fourth are buds and the rest are nothing. How do you do it. I am sorry to say, I end up throwing the ugly ones out and buying more.

P.S. Love the Winterize the dog house!

Hi Adrian, Yes the movies or repeat TV shows have to be in order!

Hi Cal, The fall season really offers wonderfully harty flowers in this part of the country.

Hi Kristin, I can't take credit for these lovely flowers in the photo, but I wonder if the cooler nights with a lot of warm sun in the daytime help make these flowers thrive.  Yes those outside houses have to be prepared for those upcoming cold nights too!

Thanks all for stopping.

Make sure the snowblower works sounds like an important check point, Gloria. And winterizing the dog house? Why not just let him/her live inside in the winter :)

Gloria  You certainly have put tpgether an extremely complete list - we now live in a town home and no longer need a snow blower - we don't miss it at all

whew I'm glad I don't need this list.  maybe I should come up with a Maui list, though it would be short!

I am following Joni's lead and re-blogging this great checklist of things to do before winter.   Better get busy, you don't want to be worrying about things you can fix now.

I was wondering what you were talking about, and then I got to the good stuff:

__Buy hot chocolate

__Renew membership to video store/update Netflix’s list

__Stock up on birdseed

I guess my list would just have three things on it. lol

Hi Toni, I think the dog should be inside also, yet some people leave them outside all year long.

Hi Karen, I look forward to the day when I can watch someone else do the work.  The first snow fall is always fun, but these large snow falls the past few winters have been too much.  Great for kids.

Hi Joni, thanks for the re-blog!  Yes lists help a lot!

Hi Georgina, Funny!  Your list might be get more sun screen, have plenty of cool drinks on hand and keep a wonderful space in the yard to take in the wonderful scenery!

Hi Yvonne, You probably get snow way before us.  Good luck with getting things in order for the winter.  Thanks for the re-blog.

Hi Eric, Yes the hot chocolate is very important and some wine doesn't hurt either or preferred drinks.   I got the bird seed just in time, the Junco's have returned.

Have a great fall/winter season everyone!

Gloria & Doug-

What a great list of "to do's".  I keep wondering if there's anything I'm forgetting to do before the cold really sets in and realized I didn't have any hot chocolate!

Gloria, This is a great list that could be changed a little for different temperature zones across the country. Now that winter is knocking on the door...hope everyone gets it done!
