62 years is an amazing run. Enjoy your time at the festival you guys. And have a safe and happy 4th too.
That's a lot of festivals, and sure to be fun with some fantastic country cooking. More than a day trip for me, however. Hope all that go enjoy.
Gloria-I love these kinds of activities so if I was closer I sure would attend. Have a great 4th.
The Kutztown Folk Festival looks like a great way to spend the day - love down home country festivals. Have a great 4th of July!
That must be quite an event to stick around for 62 years! Sounds like one of the must do thing of the year!
The Kutztown Folk Festival sounds wonderful, Gloria. I love those festivals and they must have this one down perfect if it's been around for 62 years.
Hi Gloria,
I'm so glad I found your post today. A long time ago I stopped at a garage sale in Rhode Island and bought a Pennsylvania Dutch Cook Book of Fine Recipes. The recipes were compiled from tried and tested recipes handed down by the early Dutch settlers in Pennsylvania. I just dug it out of my cabinets and saw that it was copyrighted in 1961. I haven't looked at that cookbook for years and as I flip through the pages, I see there are poems, lots of drawings and some great recipes too. I remember using it a lot when I raised my kids. Between your post and this recipe book, I'm going to learn a lot today!
Thanks Gloria :)
Gloria, it took just one look at the photo you included in your post to know that I would love to visit the folk festival in Kutztown! Have a great 4th!
Hi Craig, Thanks! Always nice to be around people with music, good food and handmade items!
Hi Ed, Yes a long haul for you! Bet you have a few fun festivals up your way this summer!
Sharon, Have a great 4th also!
Kristine, the same to you, enjoy the holiday!
After being in that part of the country a couple years ago, I'd really enjoy a festival like that. My neighbors, a few doors down, have one of those "Wilkum" signs hanging over their garage.
