These flowers always make me think of my mother who had them in her garden.

Hi Gloria~

How nice to see something so beautiful and be reminded of your mother.

They really do fit their name too! Are they fragrant?

Thank you for sharing.

Doug and Gloria.  When I saw your subject line about Bleeding Hearts, but before the blog page actually loaded, I immediately thought of my mother too.  She game me several plants of them before her death years ago.  They just started blooming yesterday.

Doug & Gloria, Beautiful photo.  I'm in the mountains right now with about 4 feet of snow so the flower looks especially nice.

Sharon, I will have to watch and see if I see any hummers hanging out.  Thanks for the tip.

Judi, Surprising that they do not offer any smell.  I am always fascinated by their shape.

Lisa and Robert, they are worth the wait!  Hopefully not too much longer for you!

Myrl, Nice to hear you have that reminder too.  My columbine is close to opening and that is another plant that reminds me of my mother.  Great that your plant is from your mother.  Nice connection.

Robert, I wonder if you had any in Royersford?

Gary, Wow, 4 ft of snow!  Will that snow go away at your elevation?

Karen, Nice to hear that.  They are such great springtime flowers.

Thanks all for stopping by!

Hi Doug and Gloria, I love those flowers as well. They can be so totally beautiful and you get lots of blooms on the plant. The ones  have seen have been red but the pinks are quite stunning.

William, They are such amazing spring flowers, delicate yet strong.  I also saw an all white flower once years ago.

Doug and Gloria -- My grandmother had these flowers in her garden. I don't think I have seen them in over 40 years. Thanks for bringing back a very pleasant memory.

Very pretty! They are my favorite shade of pink too. Mother's Day coming up has us all thinking about our moms. My dad always gave my mom red roses; I hope they were her favorite :)

Gloria, I haven't seen those for YEARS.  They're so pretty and such a different type of bloom.  Thanks for sharing.
