Great picture, but I wish it had flowers, green grass and a thermometer that read about 80 degrees.
That does look rather chilly! We've been freezing too and are excited about the tropical heat wave we are having today.......expect to get to almost 50 degrees! YAY!
Hi Doug, Looks like our weather here, too. BRRRR cold, but they say we're in for a warming up spell and we might hit 38 degrees. That's pretty bad when that sounds warm. Nice post!
I didnt order this cold weather here in NC! I am used to cold but not this cold!! Im ready to have my 55 degree days back!
Katie, I'm with you, it would be nice at least to see some buds and flowers.
Ann, yes you have been hard hit too! Good to get up into the 50's!
Gary, funny how 38 degrees can feel so warm!
Allen (and Team), yes too cold down your way, not one of the things you expect so far south. 55 degrees will feel toasty! Maybe today it will arrive!!!

Way too cold for me! We've been in a bitter cold here in Dallas; first one in about 13 years and I am so grateful to see the 50's today. Keep warm, Doug and Gloria
Now that is really cold!
all the best in 2010
Your friend in Charlottesville Virginia!
Cold indeed.
Beautiful picture, thanks for sharing.
That is way to cold for me - - brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Doug and Gloria - if it weren't for the tree branches in the forefront I would have said it looks like you are in an underground cave somewhere
Teral, your neck of the woods does not get real cold winters so I'm sure you're glad this cold spell is winding down.
Charles, a bit cold down your way too.
Bozena, thank you.
Yvette & Dennis, too cold for too long!
Kathy, I see what you mean. My other shots of this hillside did not come so good. Thanks.

Doug and Gloria, We were complaining when it got down to 19 at night recently; that puts it all in to perspective.
We are right there with you! I am so jealous of those areas with warm breezes and beautiful flowers. I guess our cold makes us appreciate our warmer weather all the more when it finally comes.
Marchel, We have not had a winter like this so early in the season for many years. With the wind chill it was much colder. Now it is warming up into the 40's!!
Sharon, you may even have it a bit worse than us at times. You got hammered with one more storm than us this season so far. Yes it would be great to be on vacation close to the equator. But yet it is wonder to see the flowers break through the soild to start Spring.
Stay warm! -----Gloria
I can never understand how this could be the same country I am living in. It is in the 70s here. Brrrrr.
I don't think I've ever seen an icycle in person. I did see snow a few years ago for the first time.
Those look like some pretty solid icicles, not the kind that just develop over night. Just a couple of more weeks and we'll know what Punxatawney Phil thinks about all of this!
Jane, It is amazing how vast our country is in so many ways and in temperature for sure. LA, I lived in Tustin, south of LA for 4 years so I know your winters are great!
Jim, that's amazing that you have never seen an icicle! At least you know what snow is like, and each snowflake is unique - that totally amazes me!
John, That's right, hopefully he will not see his shadow and we will have an early spring! I think I'll have to watch "Groundhog Day" sometime soon for a laugh. thanks John! -----Gloria
i felt like that last week i was on the roof of a 20 story building in the city last week. My coffee was ice cold in mins, and so were my fingers the work i was doing i could not use gloves on. and i had to build a shield to able to braze...COME ON SUMMER....
