Linvilla Orchards is an all season, all age attraction located on the outskirts of Media and Brookhaven.  One can easily slip out of suburbia and into the countryside by visiting Linvilla Orchards in order to regain a sense of connection with nature and life on the farm.  Linvilla Orchards keeps up with all the seasons not only in providing the fruits and vegetables that most seasons bring, but they provide attractions, like Pumpkin Land and blueberry picking; activities to engage people in the season that is at hand.

There is a store for buying many edible goods, a zoo of sorts where one can see animals up close, craftDoug and Gloria's Blog shows and special events throughout the year, a playground and of course many acres of farmland.

Doug and Gloria's BlogClose to the main entrance are the remains of a stone foundation of an octagon barn, which was a main attraction in itself prior to its destruction in a fire in 2002.  A wonderful building missed by many, myself included.  There are plans to rebuild the barn in the future.

Thanks Kathryn.  I am always pleased when I drive by to see that it is busy and that schools use this place as a destination for a field trip (school buses in parking lot).

When I first heard that the barn burnt down I was six and I was crying in then back of the car. I couldn't belive what I was seeing. I want there like every weekend cusz I loved it now being 13 I relly do miss the old barn and hope that they rebuild it soon. I know that will make lots of people happy. I do plan on becomeing a firefighter in the near future cusz that is what wants me to be a firefighter. I always stand were the old barn use to be whenever I go there and pray that one day it will have a store in it again and that I will beable to take my kids there

Rebecca, It was such a great building!  I remember going in there before Christmas and looking at their great Christmas display upstairs with many handmade gifts and goodies.  Hopefully they will rebuild before you have children!  Thanks for stopping by!   ----Gloria

i am so sorry to here that the huge tall octagon linville orchard burnt down in 2002. my father reroofed that barn in the mid- 1950 s and when he was finished he took me up on that tall roof as a 2 year old. and too think i am now afraid of heights. i so love that picture of me and my dad up on that roof. my dad passed aug.13-2010 so i was hoping to see the barn again.so so sorry to hear it burnt down in 2002.          debbie baker waltz, wagontown, pa

Debbie,  My condolences to you on your father's recent passing.  The foundation of the barn is still there, just so you know.

That is a great story about you and your father up on that wonderful roof.  It was a great building with a great feeling inside.  It is nice to know the orchard is still thriving and serving the community after so many years.  Hopefully one day they will rebuild.

Thank you so much for stopping and sharing your connection to that great barn.  All the best to you and your family during this time.
Sincerely, Gloria
