Free Trees for Residents in Springfield, Delaware County, PA To Help Meet Township Code

Free Trees in Springfield, Delaware County PAAs a homeowner in Springfield Delaware County PA, it is required under the Township Zoning Code that residents have a tree in their front yard.  To help meet this requirement the township will be distributing free trees in November of this year and in the Spring of next year 2011.  The trees are first being offered to residents who do not have a tree at this time, and then if any are left over the remaining will be given to other residents.  Up to 240 trees will be given out in total.

This is all made possible thanks to a PECO Green Regional Program Grant of $5,000 that was recently awarded to Springfield Township to purchase native trees.

If you or someone you know may benefit from this grant please contact the Springfield Superintendent of Parks, Frank Pappa at 610-543-3860
