National Pretzel Day April 26, 2011
Well I don't know how official this is, but it seems today is National Pretzel Day according to an article I just read. It stated that Congress first declared it a National Day in 1983 at the urging of U.S. Representative Robert Walker and that Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell revived the idea in 2003.
Pretzels are certainly a favorite snack with many people: pretzels and beer, pretzels with a glass of milk, pretzels with chips, pretzels and ice cream, pretzels with peanut butter inside, Philadelphia Soft Pretzels, pretzel nuggets, pretzel cones. The list goes on and on.
One thing is for certain, Philadelphia is hot on pretzels and if you ever visit this area you have to have a soft pretzel with mustard just once to know what people are talking about.
