Media Fellowship House Offers Grant Money For First Time Home Buyers In Delaware County, Pennsylvania
Grant money for First Time Home Buyers in Delaware County, Pennsylvania may be in your reach, depending on your income level, your credit score and your willingness to take time out of your schedule for two, four-hour classes and to meet with a counselor. If you are hoping to purchase your first home in Delaware County you may be able to get a $5000 grant to help defray your closing costs at the time of your purchase.
Media Fellowship House (MFH) is the name of the program that offers this particular grant and the classes you need to take are held two Saturday's every month. Actually it is considered a loan for the first 5 years. If you sell your home in the first five years you will have to repay a portion of the load back based on the amount of time you have been living in your new home. If you do not sell your house after five years, no repayment is required, thus a grant.
Whoever is going to be on your mortgage must complete these classes and the counseling session prior to putting an offer in on a house. Once you have these steps completed, your documentation is ready to go and you can begin to look for a house.
This program covers most of Delaware County. Upper Darby has it's own program.
A First Time Home Buyer also includes individuals who have not had their name on a deed and/or mortgage in the last three years or more.
When I was a First Time Home Buyer in Delaware County, my agent did not inform me of this program, which I was qualified for, and I lost out on this great opportunity. We hope that you can benefit from this great program!
