"Red-bellied Woodpeckers", not a name I would have choosen for this bird. Sure they have red on their belly if you look closely, but by far their heads are more pronounced with red then their bellies.
If you want to have them visit your feeders, along with other woodpeckers, plan on having suet in your yard and in no time you will have them as regular visitors to your feeders. They will eat other seed if there is no suet, but by far in my experience they enjoy suet.
Red-bellied woodpeckers are medium sized birds and seem to enjoy speaking at length. They seem to announce themselves, as they get closer to your feeders, and they will just keep talking as they leave the area. I am never really sure if they are talking to another bird since they seem to travel alone.
These photos were taken with my Nikon Coolpix L110. The best I can offer. (Gloria)
