Giving Quietly (Giving Anonymously)

Tis the season to be jolly.... Yet I'm sure we may all know of someone who is going through a really hard time this holiday season and for him or her, being jolly is very hard right now. And maybe that someone is too proud to ask for help or even accept something from their neighbors, co-workers or family because they have always been able to tow the line, but deep down they may be hoping money would fall from the sky so they can put a decent meal on the table over the holidays for their family and have gifts under the tree for their little ones.

I happened to catch a report about an organization a few months back that helps people give money anonymously to others.  How wonderful.  All you have to do is contact this non-profit organization, Giving Anonymously, give them the name and contact info of the person you want to give to, use your credit card and they will send the money to this person.   The recipient will not know that you are the giver, but they are asked to call a number and leave a thank you message so you can hear their response to your gift.

Not only is this good for bringing joy during the holiday season, but joy can be given throughout the year and a particular need can be addressed if you prefer.  Meaning, if you know someone is in need of something like dental work or a new muffler on their car, you can attach a message with your gift stating that the money be used for a specific reason.  Otherwise, just give the money and feel the happy joy in your heart for being able to give to another in their time of need.  .....Fa la la la la, la la la la.    (written by Gloria)

Stay Focused!  Use a Professional Coach

A Professional Coach...Professional Athletes use them, Actors use them, Olympians use them, Corporate Executives, Managers and Small Business Owners use them.... then why not Real Estate Professionals?  What a great idea to have someone help you sort through mounds of distractions, offer guidance to keep you focused and make you accountable for your time!

Kathy Marcolina, Certified Professional Coach, was invited to our office business meeting to share a bit about her coaching services for Realtors and she quickly got my attention because she mentioned the two fundamentals of strong real estate agents: a strong database and a strong system for staying in touch with that database.  This is something I hear repeatedly by others offering guidance.

She offered an introductory session to our office and I took her up on the offer.
The main thrust of her service is to find out what your goals are, find out the steps to attain those goals and to help you stay focused in order to achieve those goals.  She listened and asked questions in order to get to know who I am and how I work.  She then offered feedback and a very doable formula for honing in on one of my goals.

What I also liked about her is that she understood very quickly things that were affecting me in the present time and had the ability to offer ideas that were in tune to my way of looking at things, which I thought was a gift on her part.
